  7. Minutes of the IP over AppleTalk Working Group (APPLEIP)
  8.  
  9. The meeting opened with discussion of the intended conclusion of the
  10. Working Group.  The work of the Group will continue under the ANF. At
  11. the conclusion of the meeting the Group decided to disband, but will
  12. reactivate, if necessary, to complete the work currently on the
  13. standards track.

  15. MIB+
  16.  
  17. Four issues were brought up in regard to the MIB+.
  18.  
  19.  
  20.    o Zone Name Changing
  21.      Zone name changing will not be part of MIB+ and will be moved to a
  22.      working group of the ANF for further study and work.
  23.  
  24.    o Per Port Counters
  25.      Both per port counters and aggregate counters will be kept.  The
  26.      per port counters can be queried by watching for changes in the
  27.      aggregate counters.
  28.  
  29.    o Zone Name matching of Get, Get Next and Set
  30.      Lexical comparison of Zone names can be an issue in MIB+
  31.      implementations since the zone name equivalence comparison is
  32.      different from the lexical order used in Get Next.  This will be
  33.      elucidated in the MIB+ document.

  35.    o Index of Zone Name
  36.      Zone names will be used as the index into several tables.

  39. The MIB+ will move forward and be submitted as an Internet-Draft by May
  40. 5th.  It will then be submitted to the IESG for consideration as a
  41. Proposed Standard.

  43. MacIP
  44.  
  45. The MacIP specification will be submitted as an Internet-Draft under the
  46. control of the APPLEIP Working Group if it is submitted by May 5th.
  47. After that date parties may submit the specification as an Informational
  48. RFC.

  58. The ANF will take over all of the work that is currently done by the
  59. APPLEIP Working Group.  The ANF is still in its formation phase but it
  60. will try to have its first meeting at the MacTivity conference.

  62. AFP MIB
  63.  
  64. The AFP MIB will soon be available on ftp.cayman.com.  An announcement
  65. will be sent to the mailing list shortly.  This work will be done under
  66. the ANF.
